Davson’s largest single canvas painting. Taking almost six months to complete – mostly whilst on display at the Westpac Plaza foyer in George Street, Sydney. It attracted much public and media attention. It was commissioned to hang in the Sydney Town Hall for international Japan Week festival of 1986.

In 2011 Pat Farmer ran from pole to pole. Davson was both the official artist and also the first artist to be a significant sponsor of an international sporting event. The event took place across 14 countries. Tribulations reflects some of the challenges the runner and the artist faced in the lead-up to this world record making Pole to Pole run from the North Pole to the South Pole through the Americas.

The Platypus Panel of Grand Slam Dreaming is the smallest and most endearing panel in this lengthy painting created by Sharon Davson. Overall the painting is by far the longest in her career to date.
